The marathon was inaugurated on November 19, 2006.
This will be a very hilly and challenging marathon in a beautiful park.
The marathon will start via a staggered start before and after 8:00 AM on November 19, 2023. Please show up early.
About our registration fees: our fees have barely budged over the last 19 years of putting on the race, but material costs have gone way up. We want our registration fees to be fair. A major goal of Monkey is to support the Friends of Warner Parks, the nonprofit organization that helps curate the park where we hold the race (https://warnerparks.org) as one of their major annual fundraisers. Funds raised through the event’s registration fees, sponsorships, swag sales, and donations contribute to the protection and preservation of Percy and Edwin Warner Parks. Friends of Warner Parks is dedicated to protecting the natural and historical integrity of the Warner Parks for all of Nashville to enjoy, always. This makes a lot of people very happy. With input via a survey sent to past Monkey participants who overwhelmingly supported raising the fees a bit to keep up with costs and our mission of supporting the park, we will be adjusting registration prices this year.
There are no refunds, deferrals or transfers.
The marathon is proudly not certified and not a Boston Qualifier. It may qualify you for a discharge under AR 635-200, chapters 5-17, however. Then again, it may not.
Roads will not be closed to traffic, other runners, walkers, bikers or animals. The volunteers and timing clock will remain in place for eight hours.
It is rare that a runner encounters a flying monkey. If you do, pray. If you finish, you will receive a medal.
We'd love volunteers to help out. If interested, Click Here.
Huma Energy gels will be available 2-4 times on the course. SWORD hydration and water will be provided approximately 18 times on the course.
