Full and HALF Marathon general registration for 2024 will involve a latent lottery. What does this mean? It means that registration website will be open for one week. You will have one week to put your name in the hat. After this weeklong period closes, we will register up to about 300 runners. If more than 300 people register, we will apply a weighted lottery to select those who will have the misfortune of running the Harpeth Hills Flying Monkey Marathon this Fall. If selected to run your credit card will be charged $120 for the full, $70 for the HALF, and we will notify you of your poor luck. If you are not selected to run, you can thank your lucky stars.

Approximately 300 runners will be selected through the weighted lottery for each of the two races in 2024. Registration for the lottery will then close on August 8, 2024 at 8am. The lottery to be held a short time later.

About our registration fees: we want our registration fees to be fair. A major goal of Monkey is to support the Friends of Warner Parks, the nonprofit organization that helps curate the park where we hold the race (https://warnerparks.org) as one of their major annual fundraisers. Funds raised through the event’s registration fees, sponsorships, swag sales, and donations contribute to the protection and preservation of Percy and Edwin Warner Parks. Friends of Warner Parks is dedicated to protecting the natural and historical integrity of the Warner Parks for all of Nashville to enjoy, always. This makes a lot of people very happy.

Please note: there will also be an option to buy a charity registration. For the full marathon, this includes a donation to the Friends of Warner Parks. This registration will allow you to bypass the marathon lottery and get right in. For the HALF Marathon, this includes a donation to the Nashville Striders as well. These options will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Details are provided on the registration website, which will be linked below when registration opens.

Oh, and all the usual stuff applies. That is, please bring an ID with you to packet pickup. It is reasonable to bring your confirmation email. We will not be offering refunds if you do not start, do not finish, do not have fun or do not PR. Or really for any other reason. You may not transfer your registration. To repeat, no refunds, no transfers. Since registration is capped, yours may keep out another runner. Therefore, we ask that you show up ready to run on race morning. If you cannot make it, please try again next year. Regardless, we will offer you a good run.
